All because the PSX was better than the Sega Saturn....

There was something....'wrong' with the Saturn. I don't know what it was - I think it was too underpowered and too expensive.

But remember - Sega created the first ever CD console - the Sega Mega CD!!!!!

the GC games do look supurb, i know im gonna have to get one when it *eventually* reaches UK shores, and i think it will be around the same price as a PS2 is now, we can but hope!!! sorry to hear the tale of wo about you dreamcast silence glaive. It was a very underestimated machine, RIP dreamcast.

SG, I know you don't like the PS2 but to be quite frank that last comment was beyond the pale, man.

I don't want to argue about this, and i have no intention of defending the PS2 but there are lots of good PS2 games as you know, but I think that resorting to abuse is...well, not right.

PS2:
Well, I've already got a PS2. The 16 games I've got so far have impressed me enough that I'll still sing praise to the system for much time to come. PS2 is a deffinite purchase for any real gamer.

X-box:
Though I claim to be a gamer, I have no intention of ever buying one. If I recieved one for xmas I would only keep it if I'd already bought a cube. I don't believe in micro$ofts tactics. I also don't believe that they have a place on the console market and should stick with pc soft. The grafx look nice, but all I see is an overhyped piece of crud in the end. I'd be surprised if it lasts as long as the TurboGrafx16, NeoGeo Pocket Color, or the Dreamcast (3 amazing systems for their times, that unfortunately didn't get an overall fair chance {realisticly very few of the market even touched these systems in even their brightest days}). The controller alone has a huge list of gripes from me. I'll be staying far away from this system.

GameCube:
Ah, my next big purchase. I can't wait to get one. Main reason: the RE series. Though, I had already planned on getting one before capcom's big news. Looks great, cool games. Not another useless dvd player (look all I need is my main dvd player. my ps2's dvd movie playback and my pc's dvd playback get maybe 2% of the overall dvd usage in my room. a waste? i think so). And what a great price. Thank you nintendo! :D

Dreamcast: If you don't already have one, you should slap yourself. The system was and still is great. Many awesome games. Check it out, you won't be dissapointed!

While the new MGS looks awesome, I really never saw why the original was that great. In my opnion it was way too short, and the graphics were only average. Still it was pretty good, just not as great as it was hyped.

Ill get a Gamecube because-
Xbox-It has about only 1 game Id like to own that is exclusive to it (dead or alive 3) there are some others I like but I can get on other systems (Simpsons road rage, Shenmue 2). So I wont be paying for a overpriced brick wannabe thanks.

PS2-It has got some good points like MGS2 and FF10, but what is has at the moment isnt enough to tempt me to buy one.

Gamecube- Great graphics (Rouge squandron a good example) and games like Resident evil and super smash bros:melee.:D Ill be buying one of those then.:cool:

*Creativity, there is no game really like it
*Story, it kept my attention and made me want more
*Gameplay, the most important thing ever. the controls were simple and easy to master, yet the game was just hard enough to make it good.

Sounds like FreeSpace - except for the creativity, it borrows from every other SC under the sun!!!!

Then of course FreeSpace's graphics are still the best around!!!!

i have a sneaky suspicion that there will be a lot of people who own both a PS2 and Gamecube. and hey, they are both great consoles. And the game cube has ickle discs. As Far as i am concerned, when the GC comes out over here in the UK, i will get one, and keep my PS2 and the reason i will be keeping it are:
1 DVD Player
2. Final Fantasy x (OHhh Yeh)
3. Gun Survivor 2
4. One hell of a lot of good looking games for 2002.

All in all 2002 will be one of the best years in gaming history. There is so much to look forward to. And what ever you want ENJOY.#

The gamecube has lots of potential... so what the 64 had lots of potential... nintendo will srew itself like Capcom did with the RE movie. You are also talking like that all those graphics are during gameplay which is simply not true. I have seen those same graphics on the PS2. Guess what none of what you people have been spewing has detered my opinion at all, and ya know what else it won't. Oh the new Star wars game... looks just like the one for PS2. The PS2 being a dvd player is not a waste! I believe it to be a good idea. It makes sense because therefore gamers can buy this one system and have all these other things as well. The PS2 is also backwards compatible and ups the graphics on older games and runs them faster. (Another reason why the Dreamcast floundered)Cause up to that point all sega products were backwards compatible, besides the saturn. i have just been checking some sights on the GC and i must say, it looks cute. You can also get a 5" LCD screen that goes onto it, check this out:

it looks so damn cool. I have a sneaking suspicion that they may be able to get level with sony if the games come out on top. its all about games for a console to survive though.

Actually, the Saturn failed not because of the games, but because there was something fundamentally wrong with it.

Power.

It was too underpowered for what it was. Sega foresaw the success of the PS and rushed out the Saturn - end result, a black mark on Sega's otherwise flawless console history.

Alas, the Saturn was a let down.

It was a rushed piece of equipment; and please don't mention the Mega-CD to me - It may have been an achievement, but when somebody shows me a Mega-CD game I start to feel ill.

What it gave us: -Fuzzy FMV (Thanks a lot)
-Some pretty apalling American games
